Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Description
Welligent, a growing SaaS-based national provider of EHR software and services for behavioral healthcare, is looking for a skilled, mid-level Oracle DBA (11g, Solaris, Linux) to manage and maintain its database and application server environment. In this position, you will report directly to our CIO to manage enterprise-level databases, disaster recovery backup solutions, application server, and applications in our data center environments.
Further responsibilities include providing technical support for the database environment, such as overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, troubleshooting, documenting, and supporting database systems. Working closely with senior management, programmers, and our project managers, great oral and written communication skills are a must. You must possess strong Oracle skills. You should be well versed in disaster recovery protocols, 24/7 support, along with strong RMAN, Apache HTTP server, Solaris/Unix, Linux, and Windows skill sets. This position requires initiative and the ability to remain flexible and responsive in a very dynamic environment. In addition, system administration experience is strongly desired.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree from a four-year college
- Strong, mid-level Oracle DBA with at least three to five years of experience
- Demonstrated track record of process and systems documentation
- Aptitude & willingness to learn new things and grow professionally
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small business environment
- Creative & proactive in developing new solutions / enhancing existing solutions
- Passion for doing things the 'best' way; detail oriented
- Ability to follow instructions and standards
- Netbackup experience a plus
- Unix and Windows Sys Admin skill set also preferred
- Oracle UCM and Web Logic Server administration skills a plus
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee the support and maintenance of all databases, applications, and application servers
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information
- Work with CIO, software designers and application developers to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
- Be able to implement procedures for database recovery, including all necessary file accommodations, backup and recovery from all possible scenarios, including disaster recovery
- Be proficient in the ability to write database and system administration policies and procedures
- Coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
- Schedule and implement the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases
